The clients wanted to create a cozy and functional space in their home that reflects their love for the Mid-Century Modern style. Here, we used the clean lines, organic shapes, and warm colors characteristic of this era. To achieve a balance between style and practicality, we opted for a neutral color palette with bold accent touches.
In this compact apartment, layout played a crucial role. Due to limited space, we chose a simple yet functional arrangement—a kitchen along one wall, a dining table in the center, and a cozy sofa by the window.
The main accent piece is a 1950s-style burgundy armchair, complemented by a wall clock inherited by the client. We reinforced the overall color scheme with textiles, adding green as a secondary hue to balance the red.
For a household of three who frequently hosts guests, a flexible dining area was essential. We selected a large oval table that seats six and paired it with two types of chairs—armchairs at the ends and armless chairs along the sides. The furniture’s soft, flowing lines create a refined and airy kitchen space without overwhelming the interior.
We kept TV area minimal with two identical sideboards that provide storage. Above them, a selection of posters featuring reproductions of Kazimir Malevich’s paintings will complete the composition.
