Four Spaces, One Room

Since mother and son share a two-bedroom apartment, this room needed to become much more than a bedroom. Within one space, we created four distinct functional zones: storage by the entrance, a private sleeping area, a comfortable living room and a dining area connected to the kitchen. Clear zoning allows each part of the room to serve its own purpose without making the interior feel crowded.

A Sense of Privacy

The sleeping area is positioned behind a folding screen, creating a sense of privacy without building an additional wall. This was particularly important in a room that also serves as the family’s shared living space: the son can enter and spend time in the living area without immediately stepping into his mother’s bedroom. The screen creates a subtle boundary while keeping the room open and flexible.

Inspired by Travel

The client wanted the interior to evoke the feeling of holidays, the sea and travelling. We translated this atmosphere through a palette of dusty blue-grey and warm beige. Blue defines the entrance and dining areas, while the softer beige creates a calmer backdrop for the more private part of the room. A blue chest of drawers placed within the beige zone becomes a connecting element between the two colour blocks.

Before After

Summer in the Details

References to the sea and summer continue through details rather than literal decoration. A rug with touches of blue and yellow brings the palette together, while posters and textiles introduce subtle associations with travel and the coast. In the sleeping area, a light summer bedspread and a distinctive lamp whose glass creates sun-like rays complete the atmosphere, bringing warmth and a relaxed holiday feeling into the room.

Elina, Interior Designer

“I believe that interior design is more than just decoration. It's a reflection of your personality, lifestyle, and needs. I create spaces that are unique for each client. My approach is to make your interior a cozy corner where you feel comfortable, whether you are at home or far away from your familiar surroundings.”
