Designed to Grow
This room was designed for an eight-year-old boy with one important goal in mind: to create an interior that feels appropriate today while remaining relevant throughout his teenage years. The design balances classic elements appreciated by the family with contemporary solutions that will adapt naturally as the child grows.
A Modern Take on Classic Design
Rather than relying on traditional furniture, the classic atmosphere is created through architectural details and patterns. Checked wallpaper continues seamlessly from the walls onto the ceiling, visually dissolving its boundaries and making the room feel taller. Soft blue-grey walls, mouldings, tall skirting boards and a colour-matched door complete the timeless character of the space.
Contemporary Accents
To keep the room fresh and youthful, contemporary furniture and lighting introduce colour and personality. A desk, chair, lighting fixtures and a bed upholstered in denim fabric create a relaxed atmosphere, while warm wooden blinds and a rust-coloured lounge chair add contrast and warmth to the cool blue palette.
A Subtle Nautical Story
The young owner wished to preserve the nautical theme of his previous room, inspired by paintings of whales and sailing ships gifted by his aunt. Instead of turning the room into a themed interior, subtle references were woven throughout the design — through colour, checked patterns, decorative fish, artwork and carefully selected details that evoke the atmosphere of the sea without becoming overly literal.

“I believe that interior design is more than just decoration. It's a reflection of your personality, lifestyle, and needs. I create spaces that are unique for each client. My approach is to make your interior a cozy corner where you feel comfortable, whether you are at home or far away from your familiar surroundings.”
